How to get free images for your presentations and documents

So – you need to build a presentation and you need imagery or videos to illustrate some key points and to generally look professional to wow a client or internet audience.

Until recently, creating impressive presentations and documentation with professional looking imagery meant contacting your marketing agency or paying large fees to the likes of Getty, however web 2.0 has changed all that.

Disintermediation has kicked in and has brought together amateur photographers and businesses around the globe giving users huge choice, wonderful creativity and affordable (as well as free) imagery. This of course benefits both originator and purchaser. Aren’t win-wins great?

There’s an excellent 7 minute video below which is taken from The 845 Club’s course on increasing workplace productivity. It takes you through:

  • The basics of licensing – so that you know you are being legal
  • How and where to get free imagery
  • How to browse for imagery more easily with a very cool free tool
  • How to download and convert YouTube videos for use in Powerpoint – not straightforward – but this makes it straightforward.

If you like what you see – you may want to check out the full course on increasing workplace productivity. We’ve heard it’s currently on special offer for January and your New Year’s resolutions…
